Interesting fact
The Sphinx on the coin is depicted with a winged lion's body and a human head, which is a common representation of the creature in Russian art and literature. In Russian culture, the Sphinx is often associated with wisdom, strength, and protection, and is said to guard the entrance to the Academy of Arts building in St. Petersburg, where the coin's design is based.
