Date of issue: 14 JUL 1993Kliment Arkadievich Timiryazev (1843-1920) - a Russian scientist, Professor of the Petrovskaya Agricultural and Forestry Academy (at present Moscow Agricultural Academy), Professor of Moscow University, honorary Member of major foreign universities and scientific societies. He successfuly proved both theoretically and experimentally the phenomenon of photo-synthesis in plants and influenced considerably the present-day understanding of biological basis of practical agronomy.
