Date of issue: 28 NOV 1997The flamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus) nestles on the north-eastern coast of the Caspian Sea and in the south of Turgai plateau. Despite a relatively large number of flamingoes, it tends to reduce.
Interesting fact
The 1997 Russian Flamingo 1 Rouble coin is unique in that it features a flamingo standing on one leg, surrounded by a mirror-like reflection of water.
