Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Pattern 1 Reichsmark coin from Germany (1871-1948) is that it was designed by the German artist and engraver, Reinhard Heydrich. Heydrich was a prominent figure in the Nazi Party and was responsible for creating many of the designs for German coins during the Third Reich era. The Pattern 1 Reichsmark coin features an image of a German eagle on one side and the denomination on the other. It was minted in 1940, but it was never officially released into circulation due to the outbreak of World War II. As a result, only a small number of these coins were produced, making them highly sought after by collectors today.
