Comment

King Farouk married Queen Farida in 1938 AD and on the occasion of the royal wedding, the Egyptian government recommended minting gold coins. All coins were minted in 1939 AD although they bare the inscription of the wedding year 1938 AD.
This is the first Egyptian coin with the inscription of (One Pound) instead of (100 Piastres).

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 1938 Egyptian 1 Pound coin commemorating the royal wedding of Farouk is that it was minted in a very limited quantity, with only 200 coins produced. This scarcity makes it a highly sought-after collector's item among numismatists and enthusiasts of Egyptian history.
