Comment

In 1985 the Royal Mint released the second one pound coin in the 'Royal Diadem' series, the first with the Maklouf third portrait of HM The Queen. The coin was issued individually and later in a 4-coin set, while also being struck in nickel-brass and silver proof.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 1985 Welsh Leek Silver Piedfort coin is that it was minted in a very limited quantity, with only 25,000 coins produced. This scarcity makes it a highly sought-after collector's item among numismatists and enthusiasts of British royal memorabilia.
