Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it commemorates the 50th anniversary of Concorde, a supersonic jet that was in service from 1976 to 2003. Concorde was a joint project between British Aerospace (now BAE Systems) and Aérospatiale (now Airbus). It was capable of flying at speeds up to Mach 2.04 (1,354 mph or 2,180 km/h) and was the only commercial aircraft to have achieved supersonic flight. The coin's design features an image of Concorde in flight, with the Queen's effigy on the obverse.
