The first of four Timothy Noad floral emblems, the others being the Leek & Daffodil for Wales, Flax and Shamrock for Northern Ireland and the Thistle and Bluebell for Scotland.Released as part of the Annual Silver proof sets (985 sales) in addition to individually (1,858 sales), as well as in a 2-coin set with the floral emblem of Wales (1,476 sales) whilst also being struck in nickel-brass, silver piedfort and gold proof.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the coin is that the Oak and Rose design on the reverse side is a symbol of the unity between England and Scotland, representing the two countries' long history of cooperation and shared monarchy.
