The Norman Sillman heraldic emblem of the 'Celtic Cross' reverse was originally introduced in 1996 with the Maklouf third portrait on the obverse.The coin was issued individually (overall Issue Limit: 25,000) while the design was also struck in nickel brass and silver proof piedfort. A reverse frosted silver proof was also issued.
