The third of four Edwina Ellis bridge designs, representing Northern Ireland the Egyptian Arch Bridge is a railway bridge in Newry, Northern Ireland. Locally known as the Egyptian Arch, the rail bridge passes over the Newry–Camlough Road, in the County Armagh half of Newry. The Egyptian Arch gained its name from its resemblance to the nemes headdress worn by Ancient Egyptian pharaohs.As well as being for circulation, the 2006 strike was issued as part of the Annual Coin Sets for 2006, in both Brilliant Uncirculated & Proof versions, while also sold in a BU pack (23,856 sales). The coin was also struck in silver proof, silver piedfort and gold proof.
