The second of four Stuart Devlin Capital City designs, the others being Cardiff, Edinburgh and London. Issued as part of the Annual Coin Sets for 2010 in both Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated as well as individually and in a BU twin pack with the London £1. The design was also produced in silver proof, silver piedfort proof and gold proof.

One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique design on the reverse side, which showcases the Belfast City Hall, a historic building in Northern Ireland. The coin was issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the building's construction.
