The second of four Norman Sillman heraldic emblems, the coin was issued as part of the Annual Coin Sets for 1995 in both Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated (105,647 sales) versions as well as individually in a BU pack with both English language and Welsh language versions available (23,728 total sales). In addition, the coin was also struck in silver proof and silver piedfort.
