Interesting fact
The 1 Poltura coin from Hungary, minted during the reign of Charles III (1711-1731), was made of silver, but it was also one of the first coins in Europe to feature a depiction of a famous person on its obverse side. The coin features a portrait of Charles III, who was a member of the Habsburg dynasty and ruled over a vast territory that included Hungary, Austria, and other parts of Central Europe. This was a departure from the traditional practice of featuring mythological or allegorical figures on coins, and marked a shift towards more realistic and representational artwork on currency.
