Interesting fact
The coin features a unique design element - a small hole in the center of the coin, known as a "mintmark," which was used to indicate the coin's authenticity. This feature was introduced by the Lippe mint in the early 19th century and was used on many of their coins. The mintmark on the 1 Pfenning coin is in the shape of a small circle, and it can be found on the reverse side of the coin, just above the year of issue (1818).
