Interesting fact
The obverse of the coin features an image of Frederick III, the reigning duke at the time, while the reverse bears the coat of arms of the Duchy of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach. What's interesting is that the coat of arms features a shield with the symbols of the three states that made up the duchy: Saxony, Weimar, and Eisenach. This design element represents the unity of the three states under one ruler, Frederick III.
