Comment

Uncertain mint, likely Buenos Aires, KM-unl. An exceedingly rare off-metal strike of an already rare pattern issue, this piece is listed in KM in silver, bronze, and aluminum, but not this silvered-bronze variety. Accordingly, the only example which NGC has certified.

Interesting fact

The Pattern 1 Peso (Silvered-Bronze Pattern) 1888 from Paraguay made of Silver plated bronze is a rare and unique coin, with only 200 pieces minted. It was created as a trial strike for a new currency, but the design was ultimately not adopted, making it a highly sought-after collector's item among numismatists.
