Interesting fact
The 1 Peso (San Hermenegildo ship) 2008 coin from Cuba features a unique design that showcases the San Hermenegildo ship, which was a Spanish galleon that sank off the coast of Cuba in 1794. The ship was part of a fleet that was carrying a large cargo of gold, silver, and other valuable items from Spain to the Americas. The shipwreck was discovered in the 1970s, and the coin was issued to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the ship's sinking.
