"El Morro" Fortress, which complete name is Castillo de San Pedro de la Roca (Castle of Saint Peter of the Rock) is a military building, placed on South-eastern point of the entrance to Santiago Bay, was built on 17th. Century to protect the entrance to Santiago harbour.

Morro is the name given to a rocky point advancing to sea.
