Finlay (born Juan Carlos Finlay) was a cuban physician and biologist, who discovered and described the transmition of the yellow fever thru the mosquito "Aedes Aegitpti".His method to fight the disease, erradicated it from Cuba in only 7 months, and allowed the completion of the Panama Channel.
Cuba government stated the prize "Carlos J. Finlay" that UNESCO grants every 2 years to investigators on microbiology themes (inmunology, molecular biology, genetics, etc.), that outstandingly contribute to health.
