The Granma is a yacht of Mexican origin, purchased by Cuban revolutionaries with the aim of enabling a landing of troops. The landing turned out to be a tactical fiasco, as the 82 fighters aboard the boat were quickly denounced and had to flee the port, taking only the bare necessities with them. After 3 days on the run, the army caught them and ended up shooting 60 of them dead in the battle of Niquero. The 22 survivors hid in the maquis.Interesting fact
