The cougar (Puma or Felis concolor) was considered absent or extinct from Uruguay. It seems to come back from neighbouring Brazil.For this coin were used the designs from gold $5 from 1830, KM# 27 on obverse, and from $ 0.10 1830. KM# 25, both modified to fit the details of this coin.
