Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 1 Penny - Elizabeth I (1st issue) ND (1559-1560) coin is that it was one of the first coins to feature a portrait of Queen Elizabeth I, who was a significant figure in English history and ruled for over 40 years. The coin's design was created by the French engraver Thomas de la Bere, and it features a youthful depiction of the Queen, wearing a crown and a necklace with a large pearl. This coin was also the first to be minted with a silver alloy that contained 91.6% silver, which was a higher purity than previous issues.
