Interesting fact
The 1 Penny coin from Edward II's reign (1310-1314) was part of a series of coins that were introduced to replace the older silver pennies that had been in circulation since the time of King Henry III (1216-1272). These new coins were minted with a higher silver content and featured a more modern design, including a portrait of the king on the obverse (front) side and a cross on the reverse (back) side. This particular coin is considered a rare and valuable collector's item, especially in good condition.
