Interesting fact

The 1 Penning coin was minted during the reign of King Olaf III, also known as Olaf the Peaceful, who ruled Norway from 1067 to 1093. During his reign, Olaf III implemented a number of reforms, including the introduction of a new coinage system that replaced the earlier Viking-era coins with a more modern currency. The 1 Penning coin was part of this new system and was used widely throughout Norway during this time period.
