Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 1 Penning coin from Norway, minted during the reign of Håkon V Magnusson (1299-1319), is that it features a unique design element - a small cross pattée, or a cross with arms that are narrow at the center and broaden towards the ends, on the reverse side of the coin. This cross pattée design was a common feature on Scandinavian coins during the Middle Ages and was believed to symbolize the Christian faith.
