Interesting fact
The 1 Penning coin from Norway, issued during the reign of Harald Hardråde (1047-1066), was made of silver and was used as a means of payment during that time. It's interesting to note that the coin's design has been well-preserved over the centuries, with the obverse side featuring a depiction of the king and the reverse side featuring a cross, which was a common design element in medieval coins. This coin is a great example of the rich history and cultural heritage of Norway during the Middle Ages.
