Comment
A 'Panchmahal'-area Kachcha Paisa. The under type is mostlikely struck at the mint of Kadi, under the rebellious Gaikwad ruler, Malhar Rao. (Obv has
a 'Shri' and rev. has the initial 'Ma'). Similar coins are noted with initial K as well - most
likely issues of Kanhoji, another rebel Gaikwad of Kadi.
Interesting fact
The 1 Paisa coin from the Princely state of Baroda, issued during the reign of Malhar Rao (1870-1875), features a unique design element - a small elephant motif at the bottom of the obverse side. This elephant symbolizes good luck and prosperity, which was a common theme in Indian culture and mythology.
