Interesting fact
The 1 Octavo coin from the Philippines, minted during the reign of Charles IV (1798-1806), was made of copper, but it was also one of the first coins to feature a local language, Tagalog, on its reverse side. This was a significant departure from the traditional Latin or Spanish inscriptions used on coins at the time, and it reflected the growing influence of local cultures on the Philippines' currency.
