Comment
The temple of Huaytara, which is the main construction found in this archaeological complex, is a work of the Inca Pachacutec (Inca Yupanqui) that was built in the early fifteenth century. A century later, this building was transformed into a Catholic church in honor of San Juan Bautista de Huaytará.It is believed that the original Inca building was intended to be a temple of the sun, although some also believe that it could have been a palace.
Regarding the architecture of the Inca temple, it was made from blocks of pink granite stone. The presence of niches, as well as double jamb entrances, is a constant in the building.
