The Estela de Raimondi coin was designed by Peruvian artist José Carlos Ríos Ríos and features a depiction of the Estela de Raimondi, a pre-Columbian stone monument discovered in 1981 in the Andes Mountains of Peru. The coin's design was chosen through a national competition and was minted to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the discovery of the Estela de Raimondi.
