Shape of a tower formed by the biblical verses of the Tower of Babel. The words of the verses appear as if held in the air, evoking the fragility of the tower and false unity of the people.

Comment

After the flood, Noah's family multiplied into 70 nations, all of whom dwelt in the region of Babylon. Their decision to create power for themselves by building a tower that would reach up to heaven, was considered by G-d as a rebellion against Him. However, in spite of this, G-d chose not to destroy the world as He did with the flood, but rather to punish the people by causing them to speak different languages and create confusion. Their aims had failed and they became scattered and powerless.

While dispersion of the people came as a punishment, it was in actual fact also a blessing to humanity as it led to the creation of many different languages and cultures which enriched the world.

Interesting fact
