Comment

There is not much info around Bunrokutsūhō. Mostly believed to be issued by TOYOTOMI Hideyoshi, but He was busy with the the invasion of Korea, so it has some probability to be issued by his heir TOYOTOMI Hidetsugu.

It is said that Bunrokutsūhō was rewards for his retainer who has distinguished military service. As it has the shape of cash coin, it is beleived that it has circulated in limited area for only a short time.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the Bunrokutsūhō coin is that it was issued during a time of great economic change in Japan. The coin was introduced in 1592, just a few years after the Japanese government had implemented a new system of currency reform, which aimed to stabilize the country's economy and promote trade. The Bunrokutsūhō coin was part of this effort, and its introduction marked a shift towards a more standardized and reliable currency system in Japan.
