Paris mint coin (tolnomur)

Interesting fact

The 1 Lepton coin featuring George I (2nd portrait) was the first coin to be issued by the newly established National Bank of Greece in 1878. It was designed by the French engraver, Jean-Baptiste Mercier, and it was minted in Paris. The coin's design features the bust of King George I on the obverse side, while the reverse side features the Greek coat of arms surrounded by a wreath. The coin was made of bronze and had a diameter of 25mm. It was used in circulation until 1914, when it was replaced by a new coin featuring King Constantine I.
