Comment
Due to high inflation starting in the late 1980s through the 1990s, these coins fell out of circulation by 2003.
Of the proof coins, 1,000 were minted in 1974 and 500 were minted in 1975.
Interesting fact
The coin features a portrait of the first president of Zambia, Kenneth Kaunda, on the obverse side, which is a unique feature as most coins from Zambia during that time period did not include portraits of individuals.
