One interesting fact about the 1 Kronenthaler - Ernest I 1827 coin from the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha is that it features a unique design element - a small shield with the initials "E" and "S" on either side of the crown, which stands for the Latin phrase "Elector et Saxoniae" meaning "Elector and of Saxony."
