Comment
Mintmarks:(c) = crossed swords
In coins with clover mintmark the crown has always 5 points and date numbers are divided by crown tips so no stars are present. There may be spikes between crown points or not. Reverse legend is: NORVEGI • VANDALO • GOTORV : Q : REX
In coins with crossed swards mintmark (c) reverse crown may have five or three points.
In three pointed crown types the points are very high and divide the date two by two like 16 | 18; no stars are present. More the King figure is small. Reverse legend is: NORVEGI • VANDAL • GOTORV : Q : REX
In five pointed crown types we can distinguish two main sub-types: an old crown type (very similar to the three pointed crown) and another crown type, lower and swollen. In first case the obverse is the same of the three pointed types, while in the second sub-types there are different portraits (2a-2b-2c).
Interesting fact
The coin features a unique design, with the obverse side bearing the image of King Christian IV, while the reverse side features a crowned shield with the coat of arms of Denmark.
