Interesting fact
The Pattern 1 Kreuzer coin was designed by the Swiss engraver and medalist, Johann Conrad Weber, who was also responsible for creating the dies for the coin. The coin features a depiction of a seated Helvetia, the national personification of Switzerland, on the obverse, and a shield with the Swiss cross on the reverse. The coin was minted in 1798, during a time of political and social upheaval in Switzerland, and was intended to be used as a pattern for a new currency that was never actually issued. As a result, the Pattern 1 Kreuzer coin is now a rare and highly sought-after collector's item.
