The 1 Kreuzer coin was minted during a time of great economic and political change in the German States. The coin was issued during the reign of Emperor Charles VII, who was instrumental in introducing a new currency system across the Holy Roman Empire. The 1 Kreuzer coin was part of this new system and was designed to replace the earlier debased currency. It was made of Billon, a copper and silver alloy, and featured an image of the Imperial Eagle on one side and the coat of arms of Regensburg on the other. Despite its relatively low value, the coin was an important symbol of the city's economic and political independence.
