Interesting fact
The Pattern 1 Kopeck - Ekaterina II (Novodel) 1796 coin from the Russian Empire is interesting because it features a unique design that was never used on any other Russian coin. The obverse of the coin depicts a portrait of Empress Catherine II, while the reverse features a crowned eagle with the coat of arms of the Russian Empire. This design was created by the artist I.A. Kramskoi and was intended to be used on a new series of coins, but it was ultimately rejected in favor of a different design. As a result, only a small number of these coins were minted, making them highly sought after by collectors.
