Comment
Stephen Album lists Nawruz, the Governor of Sijistan, as a Great Mongol, even though the dates listed (1270-1279) are after the dates of that issuer. Silver coins have been found from this ruler up to AH 691 (1292 CE) from Badakhshan, pointing to more of a relation to the Chagatai.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique blend of Islamic and Mongolian influences in its design. The coin's obverse side features the Arabic inscription "Al-Sultanu al-Azam" (The Greatest Sultan) and the reverse side features a stylized Mongolian horse, symbolizing the Chagatai Khanate's Mongolian roots. This blend of cultures reflects the rich history and diversity of the region during the 13th century.
