Interesting fact
The 1 Guldenthaler coin from Brandenburg-Franconia, minted in 1577 during the reign of George Frederick I, was made of silver, but it was also one of the first coins to feature a depiction of a ruler on both sides. The obverse side features George Frederick I in profile, while the reverse side features a full-length image of him standing on a pedestal, holding a scepter and a globe. This unique design was a departure from the traditional coin designs of the time, which typically featured religious symbols or abstract designs.
