Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it was minted during a time of great political change in Germany. The Principality of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen was a small state within the German Confederation, and in 1848, the same year that this coin was minted, the German Revolution broke out, leading to the formation of a new government and the eventual unification of Germany under Prussian leadership. This coin, therefore, represents a unique moment in German history, as it was issued during a time of transition and upheaval.
