Struck for use in Silesia. This type is listed under Silesia in KM and C, under Schlesien in Schön DM, and under Prußen in AKS.
KM lists 1 Gröschel 1797 under KM# 1050 (Frederick William II) as well as under KM# 1059 but the other reference books don't list a 1797 1 Gröschel for Frederick William III.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 1 Gröschel coin from the Kingdom of Prussia is that it was minted during a time of economic turmoil and political upheaval in Europe. The coin was issued during the reign of Frederick William III, who ruled Prussia from 1797 to 1809, a period marked by the Napoleonic Wars and the subsequent Congress of Vienna, which reshaped the political landscape of Europe. Despite these challenges, the 1 Gröschel coin remained a stable and widely used denomination in Prussia and the surrounding German states.
