Interesting fact
The 1 Groschen coin from the County of Stolberg-Wernigerode, minted during the reign of Henry Ernest I (1671-1676), was made of silver, but it was also minted in a unique way. The coin was produced using a technique called "plating," where a thin layer of silver was applied to a copper core. This was done to reduce the cost of production, as silver was a more expensive metal than copper. Despite this cost-saving measure, the coin still maintained its value and was widely accepted in trade.
