Comment

These coins were minted at a different weight than former Polish, but also Prussian coins from the same time of the same denomination. These coins were supposed to weigh 2.9g each (90 coins made out of a Cologne mark (233.8g) of copper), but the actual weight differs a lot from coin to coin.

Interesting fact

The 1 Groschen coin from the Prussian Partition of Poland (Polish States) featuring Frederick William III, which was minted between 1816 and 1817, has a unique feature that sets it apart from other coins of its time. The coin's obverse side bears an inscription in Polish, "Fryderyk Wilhelm III, Krol Prusji" ("Frederick William III, King of Prussia"), which was a departure from the usual German inscriptions found on Prussian coins. This was a nod to the coin's intended use in the Polish territories that were annexed by Prussia during the Partitions of Poland.
