The coin features an image of Frederick Ulrich, the ruler of the principality, on one side, and a crowned shield with the coat of arms of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel on the other. The coin was minted in 1617-1619, during Frederick Ulrich's reign, and was made of silver, which was a valuable and durable material at the time.
