Interesting fact
The obverse side of the coin features the coat of arms of the House of Wettin, which was the ruling dynasty of Saxony at the time. The coat of arms includes a shield with a diagonal divide, with the left side featuring a lion and the right side featuring a griffin. This design was used by the Wettin dynasty for centuries and is still featured on the coat of arms of the state of Saxony in modern times.
