Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it was minted during a time of political turmoil in the Burgundian Netherlands. Philip the Handsome, who was the Duke of Burgundy and the ruler of the Netherlands, had recently died, and his son, Charles V, was still a minor. As a result, Maximilian, Philip's brother, acted as regent until Charles came of age. This coin was minted during this period of regency, and its production was likely overseen by Maximilian. Despite the political instability of the time, the coin still bears the standard design and weight of a groat, indicating that the minting process was still functioning normally.
