Comment

The coins struck at Åbo, nowadays the city of Turku, were some of the first coins struck in Finland. With Finland being part of the Swedish Kingdom, the coins were most likely meant to circulate within the entire kingdom; however, there has been some disputes saying these coins were actually local issues of Turku. Even so, more evidence in needed to support that claim.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 1 Fyrk coin from Sweden featuring Gustav Vasa is that it was minted during a time of great change and turmoil in Sweden's history. Gustav Vasa was a powerful king who ruled Sweden during a period of religious and political upheaval, and his reign saw the introduction of Protestantism and the establishment of a new government system. Despite these challenges, the coin remains a testament to the enduring legacy of Swedish currency and the country's rich history.
