Interesting fact

The 1 Franc - Léopold III coin was minted during the German occupation of Belgium during World War II. The coin features a portrait of King Léopold III, who was the King of Belgium from 1934 until his death in 1983. However, during the war, the coin was minted with a unique feature - a small "B" was added to the bottom of the coin's reverse side, which signified that it was minted in Brussels, Belgium, rather than in the occupied territories. This subtle detail served as a symbol of resistance and hope for the Belgian people during a difficult time in their history.
